What is a high pressure tanning bed?
Tanning beds with tubes are referred to as
low or medium pressure beds. They have a higher concentration of UVB that stimulates the tanning process but also increases the risk of burning if over-exposed. Higer amounts of UVB prevent the outer layer of skin from maintaining a normal exfoliation every 28 days, speeding it up to every 7- 10 days.
High pressure spectrum tanning has a lower
UVB content, thus reducing the risk of burning and allowing your skin to maintain a normal exfoliation process. Therefore your tan will last longer with spectrum tanning.
True high-pressure beds will only have Quartz
lamps. Don't be misled by the words, high- powered or high-performance. It is NOT high pressure if it has tubes! |
